La Môme
Also known as "La vie en rose", "Edith Piaf", "The Passionate Life of Edith Piaf" and "The Untitled Edith Piaf Project"

Flashback type storyline outlining the songstress' tragic background, her fathers repeated orphaning type traveling, her substance abuse and lonely death. Edith Piaf, (the sparrow)is played by Marion Cotillard.
Kind of romantic in its portrait of turn of the century France, it was well worth the watch even though I couldn't follow the dialog exactly, French with Swedish subtitles.
Street singers, contortionists, gypsies and prostitution make the movie reminiscent of an Irish ballad of sorts. Kind of arty, it does occupy the senses.

Apocalypto
Shite, I couldnt watch it, I walked out after 45 minutes. What is wrong with Mel Gibson, I probably would have agreed with the politics of the movie, but I'll never know cause I couldnt watcht it. Man this makes me mad.
It goes against my grain to give up on anothers point of view without an understanding, but I dont wanna be in that mind long enough to get it. I have long underestimated the value of the word "disturbing".
It was partly that he didn't cut out of the scenes in time, he prolonged the suffering, every drop of blood exploited to its ruby potential.
I know I have to die, I know the human commedia means death, but Im gonna wait till its my turn, then deal with it. This may also be why I have trouble with Dante and W.S. Burroughs.
Im not gonna pay for a traumatic episode. The reality of suffering can kiss my ass.---unless it has a better story line. crap...maybe Ill try again tommorow.
This is not, I repeat, not, a review. I cant say anything about the film, only about myself.
